Interesting article here, that claims perceptions of value are influenced by the price we pay.
Do you consider Apple products to be better purely because they are the most expensive? Or is there more to it than that? It seems a little unfair on Apple, who do make quality products, to say that it is totally down to price, as there has to be quality to back it up.
On the other hand however, there is a certain status-symbol effect of owning a luxury item with a luxury price tag, when similar specification products are available much cheaper, and Apple, Champagne houses, designer brands and fashion lines are experts in playing on that feeling.
